Namespace NAudio.SoundFile
Classes
- SoundFileCapabilities
Queries which formats the system libsndfile was built with. FLAC, Vorbis, Opus and MP3 are optional libsndfile build features, so a given install may not support them — check before encoding.
- SoundFileException
Exception thrown when a
libsndfilecall fails.
- SoundFileFormatInfo
One container format the installed libsndfile build can produce.
- SoundFileReader
Reads any audio file libsndfile can decode (WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Ogg/Vorbis, Opus, MP3, …) as a repositionable WaveStream. Audio is exposed as 32-bit IEEE float, so the reader is also an ISampleProvider and feeds NAudio's float pipeline without an extra conversion stage.
- SoundFileTags
String metadata stored in an audio file (libsndfile
sf_get_string/sf_set_string). Availability is format-dependent — FLAC/Ogg/Opus carry Vorbis comments, WAV/AIFF a limited LIST/INFO set; unsupported fields are simplynullon read and ignored on write.
- SoundFileWriter
Encodes audio to any format libsndfile can write (WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Ogg/Vorbis, Opus, MP3, …). Mirrors
WaveFileWriter: it is a Stream you push source-format bytes into, with static helpers that pump an entire IWaveProvider.
- SoundFileWriterOptions
Optional configuration for a SoundFileWriter.
Enums
- SoundFileMajorFormat
The container / codec a SoundFileWriter produces. This is the discoverable, NAudio-idiomatic way to pick an output format; power users who need a format libsndfile supports but this enum omits can use the raw-int writer constructor instead.
- SoundFileSubtype
The sample encoding stored inside the file. Default lets the writer pick the natural subtype for the chosen SoundFileMajorFormat (e.g. Vorbis for Ogg/Vorbis, 16-bit PCM for WAV).
